The French Stellantis subsidiary Peugeot considers itself on track in its journey towards the electrification of its model portfolio. Including fully electric vehicles from the compact car e-208, launched three years ago, to the van e-Expert, as well as various mid-range plug-in hybrids, the company now boasts 70% "electrified" models. Recently, however, the parent company Stellantis announced a move away from multi-powertrain strategy towards battery-electric drives, and for commercial vehicles, also incorporating fuel cell electric drives.

The current offerings include:

  • Peugeot e-208
  • Peugeot e-2008
  • Peugeot 308 HYBRID
  • Peugeot e-Traveller
  • Peugeot e-Expert
  • Peugeot 3008 HYBRID
  • Peugeot 508 HYBRID/508 SW HYBRID

In the first five months of 2021, the recently visually updated lion brand was the second most sold generalist brand in Europe and already the third strongest generalist brand for electrified vehicles. The compact car e-208 and the compact SUV e-2008 were in second place in their respective segments.

"Electrification is at the heart of our 'Power of Choice' strategy, which offers the possibility to choose the engine, whether traditional or electrified. The very good sales results of our electrified models show that this strategy is bearing fruit in Europe," said Linda Jackson, Global CEO of Peugeot.

The strategy is enabled by Stellantis Group's multi-energy platforms, which allow for electric, plug-in hybrid, or combustion engines. The brand plans to offer a 100% electrified version for every model in its light commercial vehicle range by 2022.
