Opel Manta ElektroMOD: "Vizor" can communicate

What Opel might be planning with the Pixel-Vizor in the long term is shown by the Manta ElektroMOD: There, the "Vizor" stretches across the entire width of the vehicle. The Manta GSe can thus communicate with its environment across the entire surface. "My German heart has been ELEKTRified," runs as a lettering across the new front. "I am on a zero e-mission. I am an ElektroMOD," the GSe explains its mission itself and then shows the silhouette of a manta ray gliding over the Pixel-Vizor. The Opel designers had some fun with the legendary Manta logo by designing it in the form of a QR code. Next, the unmistakable trademark of the Rüsselsheim manufacturer shines centrally, and two lightning bolts flash from the circle to the stylish LED daytime running lights of the Vizor. Simply electrifying. Truly Opel.

The Manta GSe ElektroMOD is a tribute to the Opel Manta A from 1970. At the same time, the car reflects the fascination of a growing fanbase that transforms classics like the Manta with modern technologies and new design into so-called RestoMods.

The purely battery-electric Manta GSe ElektroMOD with its fully digital cockpit is as sporty as a true Opel GSe and proudly wears its ambitions in its name. MOD stands for change, for both technical and stylistic MODifications as well as a MODern sustainable lifestyle.

What does that mean?

It would be wonderful if Opel could somehow bring this model into production: On their own initiative, the "inventors" of the Manta GSe started their "dream car" project. After many brainstorming sessions, the plan was set; and in the Opel Classic warehouse, a fitting Manta A was found, just waiting to be awakened. From then on, pure car passion seized everyone involved. This much enthusiasm immediately excited the Car Guys in Opel's management – and the idea of an extra-cool ElektroMOD became reality. Currently, the new Opel Manta GSe ElektroMOD is receiving its final touches in Rüsselsheim. On May 19, 2021, the neoclassic will be presented in all its exciting details.
