Previously mainly active in the Allgäu region, the charging solutions provider Numbat has started its expansion across Germany and has put the first charger into operation with the supermarket chain tegut…. The company announced that it plans to set up to 1,000 fast-charging points of the hybrid HPC battery storage system by the end of this year. On the customer parking lot in Dipperz, a fast-charging station with two charging points was officially commissioned, where customers can charge their electric cars with up to 300 kW charging power. The commissioning is a significant step for the clean tech company Numbat, as it is the first HPC charging point outside its home region, the Allgäu. Many more are to follow.

He sees real added value for customers in this new offer. Until now, implementing a fast-charging infrastructure has been extremely difficult. A complicated connection to the power grid, transformer stations with currently long delivery times for transformers, as well as significant construction measures and high investment costs, have so far prevented or at least significantly hindered the necessary expansion of fast-charging stations, the provider argues for its system.

“Numbat relies on a combination of fast-charging station and battery storage. The installation is both quick and uncomplicated; transformer stations are unnecessary, and tegut… benefits from a sustainable and directly implementable fast-charging offer for its customers. At the event, numerous customers showed interest in the technology. The partners announced in September 2022 that they plan to implement up to 1,000 fast-charging points at almost all locations with open-space parking lots in Germany. Thus, only eight months passed from planning to the implementation of the first installation. Furthermore, the Allgäu-based company announced collaborations with other partners such as the gas station chain PM Pfennings Mobility and the electronics retailer EURONICS to ensure a rapid expansion of the fast-charging infrastructure in all regions of Germany, with many installations already planned for 2023.
