The Allgäu-based charging technology start-up Numbat has secured financing for ongoing and future projects through an investment by real estate and infrastructure financier Patrizia, thereby significantly accelerating its growth. Patrizia is already successfully engaged in the sustainable infrastructure sector and will support the rapid and nationwide expansion of fast-charging infrastructure in Germany and beyond, according to the convinced Allgäuers. The total investment volume, together with a consortium of German banks led by DAL (Deutsche Anlagen-Leasing), amounts to a triple-digit million sum for the start-up.

The combination of a fast-charging station and battery storage is intended to enable high-power charging (HPC) at any location, independent of the power grid, through quick and easy installation. At the same time, the system relieves existing grids through its own energy management. The integration of PV systems is possible and is expected to increase profitability.

With already existing contracts with national companies such as tegut…, Norma, Euronics, and hagebaumarkt, thousands of fast-charging points are now to be installed and operated. According to the provider, investments of well over a billion euros are feasible with Patrizia's funds combined with external capital providers. The company sees itself on a successful course and counts itself among the fastest-growing start-ups in all of Germany.

"Now we can enter a phase of strong growth and rapidly scale Numbat both nationally and internationally. Customers are ready to make a significant contribution to the energy transition through Numbat, the contracts are signed, and further cooperations are imminent. Hardware availability is secured, and our team is ready to establish Numbat as a market leader," promotes Martin Schall, CEO of Numbat GmbH.

Matteo Andreoletti, Head of Infrastructure Europe and North America at Patrizia, considers supporting the transition to renewable energy to be one of the most important long-term investment initiatives to accelerate the transformation of our mobility infrastructure. Electromobility plays a significant role on the path to "net zero" and in creating smarter, cleaner, and more sustainable infrastructure for cities and communities.
