Niu believes in electric micromobility and introduces three new scooters

The Chinese micromobility specialist NIU Technologies has announced three new model series and various limited special editions to celebrate its tenth anniversary at Europe’s largest motorcycle fair, Eicma, in Milan. Alongside the anniversary special models, two eMoped model series and the new KQi-Sharing Kickscooter, which is specifically tailored to the needs of rental companies like Tier or Lime, will premiere.

“Ten years ago, we set out to spark an electric revolution. And when I look at where we stand today, it is clear that we have made significant progress - but there is still much to be done. At the beginning, there was the realization that moving away from fossil fuels is essential to approach a cleaner and greener future, the manufacturer states. Ten years ago, the global demand for more sustainable mobility was just starting to crystallize. With the market launch of its first electric model in 2015, the company positioned itself at the forefront of the movement for environmentally friendly electric mobility solutions and has since established itself as a significant player and trendsetter for green urban mobility in Europe. They aim to "revolutionize" daily commuting in urban areas and demonstrate that a greener future is possible. The anniversary is celebrated with a limited edition of special models: exclusive versions of NQiX, FQi, XQi3, RQi Sport, KQi 300X, and KQi Air X can be seen at the EICMA. Only a few hundred units of each anniversary model will be sold worldwide.

NIU NQi X: The Original, Reinterpreted

The NQi X series is a tribute to the popular NQi series, which is now celebrating its 10th anniversary. The NQi X combines the most popular features of the classic NQi and aims to take them to a new level. The model is particularly targeted at customers seeking thrill, but also at everyday riders. With its 5000-W motor, it reaches a speed of up to 100 km/h, with a range of more than 100 km. This is made possible by two 72V-28Ah batteries, with acceleration and torque that can be individually adjusted. The specially developed Link Crown allows riders to adjust important parameters on the go without having to access the app. Important additional features, such as route recording, music playback, or answering phone calls, are intended to make the ride even more enjoyable. Optional features such as tire pressure monitoring (with accessories) or ride time measurement are also available.

Characteristic Design Reinterpreted

The new model reinterprets the characteristic design with interchangeable side panels, a magnetic front panel, and of course, the iconic halogen light. The model will initially be available in three variants, as NQi X 150 (45 km/h, 2,699 euros), NQi X 300 (80 km/h, 3,599 euros) and NQi X 500 (100 km/h, 4,499 euros), all prices gross. They are expected to be available in the first quarter of 2025 in NIU flagship stores and dealerships across Europe in the colors matte black, matte gray, and glossy white. From the third quarter of 2025, the top model NQi X 1000 will also be available in flagship stores and dealerships across Europe. The expected starting price is 7,499 euros, with the model being available in the same colors as the sister models as well as an additional 10-year anniversary color.
