How the mobility transition can succeed will be discussed and examined from various perspectives at Hypermotion 2019 in Frankfurt am Main. For the first time, the German Mobility Congress will be held as part of Hypermotion, organized by the German Transport Science Society (DVWG), the Rhein-Main Transport Association (RMV), and the House of Logistics & Mobility (HOLM).
Digitalization in many areas of life, increasing mobility needs, ongoing climate change, and growing urbanization require new mobility concepts. Intelligent, connected, and multimodal systems are indispensable. In developing these systems, players and stakeholders from the mobility, supply chain, and infrastructure sectors face numerous open questions, a dynamic and unclear market environment, as well as obstacles and regulations that hinder rather than promote innovation.
Hypermotion aims to promote interdisciplinary and cross-modal dialogue between established mobility and logistics companies and first movers, open up new perspectives, discuss forward-looking concepts, and encourage networking among all participants. These participants include established corporations and medium-sized companies from the mobility and logistics sectors, as well as mobility pioneers, start-ups, and representatives from politics, science, and associations.
Conferences
Hypermotion participants can expect an extensive conference program over all three days. For the first time, the German Mobility Congress will also take place at Hypermotion. The theme of the congress is "Mobility in Urban Areas – Opportunities and Challenges." Other conferences include "EXCHAiNGE," a renowned international event for supply chain management, and the "Logistics Digital Conference" (LDC), which focuses on the future of freight transport, among other topics. The smart mobility conference (smc), on the other hand, focuses on sustainable urban mobility concepts and digital networking.
Hypermotion Lab
In the Hypermotion Lab, start-ups as well as established companies present their innovative business ideas and projects. In interactive formats such as elevator pitches or speed networking, newcomers showcase their skills, while finalists from established companies compete for the coveted Supply Chain Management Award. Participation is encouraged: all participants are also invited to actively engage in workshops and think tanks to discuss current problems and jointly develop initial solutions.
Micro Mobility
Electric scooters and hoverboards will soon be allowed to legally operate on German roads. Hypermotion is setting up a micro mobility course where providers can showcase their light vehicles for passenger and cargo transportation: monowheels, Segways, e-bikes, cargo bikes, and e-scooters can all be tested.
Stuva Conference
Running concurrently with Hypermotion is the Stuva Conference, the event for the tunnel industry, at the Frankfurt exhibition grounds. Visitors can expect an extensive lecture program with more than 60 selected and simultaneously translated presentations, along with the accompanying STUVA Expo trade fair, featuring around 200 exhibiting companies.
