The mobility solutions provider Moove has announced a fleet partnership with the autonomous driving specialist Waymo. This collaboration is the first commercial partnership of its kind for the Waymo One App. Under the agreement, Moove will manage and dispatch Waymo's fully autonomous fleet, starting with operations in Phoenix in 2025 and expanding to Miami in 2026. Moove will take responsibility for fleet operations, facilities, and charging infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of Waymo's all-electric, self-driving vehicles. Waymo will continue to offer its service through the Waymo One App and remain responsible for the validation and operation of its autonomous driving technology – the Waymo Driver.

"Together, we will provide passengers with safe, smooth rides and scale faster and more cost-effectively over time, with safety remaining a top priority," explains Ryan McNamara, Vice President of Operations at Waymo.

As Moove expands into the field of autonomous vehicles, the company remains committed to its existing customers in emerging markets. The company will continue to offer its flagship Drive-to-Own (DTO) product, which facilitates access to vehicle ownership for underserved mobility entrepreneurs, helping them achieve business success.

According to the provider, autonomous vehicles are expected to eliminate inefficiencies, safety concerns, and environmental issues associated with traditional mobility systems. According to the World Health Organization, traffic accidents claim approximately 1.19 million lives each year, making them one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Waymo hopes that Moove's expertise in fleet management will help them focus on advancing the innovative Waymo Driver technology while providing safe, reliable, and sustainable experiences for drivers.

"The mediation of rides has fundamentally changed urban mobility over the past 15 years, but the core business has remained largely unchanged. We know that there is no universal concept of mobility that fits all. While we are expanding into autonomous vehicles in the USA, we remain committed to our customers worldwide, where we will continue to offer our unique financing solutions for underserved mobility entrepreneurs," explained Ladi Delano, co-founder and Co-CEO of Moove.

Moove's entry into the US market is part of a broader strategy to build the world's largest fleet and the best technologies that drive mobility platforms. The growth has been accelerated by the global partnership with Uber and the support of leading investors, including Uber, who participated in the Series B funding in 2024. With offices in 12 markets across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, Moove has already helped more than 30,000 mobility entrepreneurs worldwide, who have completed over 50 million rides with Moove-financed vehicles.
