Milence to Build First Truck Charging Hub in Sweden

Milence is working towards road traffic without fossil fuels. To achieve this, the company is building the first large-scale public charging network for heavy commercial vehicles and buses across Europe.

An accessible charging hub at an important logistics point

At the end of 2023, Milence opened its first charging hub in Venlo, Netherlands. Additionally, the company announced an agreement with the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, the second largest European port, to develop two charging stations with thirty charging points for heavy-duty vehicles. With this announcement, Milence is expanding its future network towards Scandinavia and committing to develop Milence's first charging hub in Sweden.

The planned charging hub is strategically located in the municipality of Varberg, between Gothenburg and Malmö in the southwest of Sweden. The city itself is a popular stopover for haulers and heavy-duty vehicle drivers, and the charging hub is located near exit 55 of the E6 motorway. The hub in Varberg will – like all other Milence charging stations – be open to all trucks, regardless of the brand.

A two-phase development in Varberg

The company is expanding its network and focusing on creating green corridors for road transport that connect key logistics points. The development of the charging hub in Varberg marks the first step towards electrifying transportation routes in Scandinavia. Additionally, Milence aims to provide a holistic charging experience with its charging hubs by offering a place where drivers can rest and recharge. The location in Varberg will include multiple facilities, such as a lounge, showers, and toilets, to ensure an optimal customer experience.
