Milence – the joint venture of Daimler Truck, Traton, and the Volvo Group – has officially entered the German market with the opening of two public truck charging stations near Leipzig. Strategically located at key freight corridors, the charging stations connect Berlin with southern Germany as well as Poland. The new hubs each offer a charging capacity of up to 400 kW.

Hermsdorfer Kreuz, Thuringia

Located on the A4 motorway between Poland and Frankfurt am Main, this strategically advantageous junction features eight charging bays. It offers universal access for all heavy electric trucks, regardless of the brand.

Vockerode, Saxony-Anhalt

This junction located on the A9 between Berlin and Leipzig features four charging bays and is adjacent to a secure truck parking area with facilities such as lounge areas, showers, and toilets.

Germany – an important market

With a share of over 30% in European road freight transport, Germany is a cornerstone in Milence’s strategy. Additional hubs will soon be added in Kassel-Lohfelden, Koblenz, Himmelkron, Hüttenberg, Kirchberg an der Jagst, and Recklinghausen to the first two. Further hubs in ten European markets are under development to meet the growing demand for electric road freight infrastructure.

Milence Managing Director Anja van Niersen: “We are determined to maintain this momentum and collaborate with local players to prioritize the infrastructure and expand it according to market demand.”

Diverse payment options and transparent pricing

Milence aims to ensure accessibility and transparency for all users with a robust payment system. Partnerships with leading e-Mobility Service Providers (eMSPs) enable drivers to pay with various charging cards. Direct payment options via the Milence app and bank cards are also available. The standard charging rate is 0.399 Euro/kWh (excluding VAT), with price details displayed in the Milence app and at each charging point.

Sustainability as a Core Element

In the construction of Milence charging stations, sustainability was a priority. All charging stations are 100% powered by green electricity, and the design focuses on CO2 reduction—including innovative concrete solutions that aim to ensure a 30-year lifespan with minimal environmental impact.

Enhanced Driver Experience

In addition to the high-performance charging stations, the Milence hubs are designed to offer a safe and comfortable environment for drivers. Amenities include fenced parking lots with access control, illuminated spaces, camera surveillance, Wi-Fi, and facilities for resting and refreshment.
