Micromobility is coming – even at Matchbox!

In addition to the Citroën Ami, Matchbox has also downsized the Renault Twizy, bringing micromobility into children's rooms and collectors' displays.

On its 70th birthday, Matchbox also gifts itself with colorful micromobility. The Citroën Ami, which would be much more attractive in real life in red with red seats than in garbage bag gray-blue, is now joined by a well-made miniature of the Renault Twizy from the Mattel subsidiary, which will soon be replaced by a successor under the "Mobilize" flag.

The interesting part: Mobility is also being rolled out extensively in children's rooms. And while the sister brand Hot Wheels is more responsible for crazy, muscle, and hypercar-like styles, Matchbox can also try minimal mobility. And so, it can also try colors that would work better in real life than the original.

Moreover, sustainability has been discovered: Models are now made from recycled zinc, the cardboard boxes are also made from recycled and barely bleached material on the backside, and for its 70th birthday, the additional logo "Build for a lifetime" was invented: indeed, the small miniatures are (almost) indestructible and, unless buried in sandboxes or attics, should be enjoyed by multiple generations...

Does anyone still know what Honda aimed to achieve with the 'E,' Renault with the Twizy, or Citroën with the Ami?

What does that mean?

Electric micromobility is also rolling into the children's room with Matchbox. Less energy-consuming than the originals and ideally playable and usable for several centuries. A small, nice sustainable approach.
