Microlino expands sales in Germany through Astara
The Swiss LEV specialist Microlino aims to establish a stronger presence in Germany: roughly a year after the market launch of the smart city runabout, the distribution network for Microlino is being gradually expanded through Astara Mobility. There are already around 40 sales and service locations nationwide, and ten more support points are expected to be added by the end of the year. In addition to the online sales activities of the Swiss brand, the company now also intends to offer on-site consultation and sales.
"By building and expanding our distribution network, we are responding to the growing demand for the Microlino: especially in metropolitan regions and urban areas – the natural habitat of our city runabout – we want to ensure competent and reliable customer support to convince even more customers of the alternative mobility concept," explains Stefan Krause, Managing Director for Microlino in Germany.
At the moment, 18 partners ensure customer support in sales and service at around 40 locations nationwide. After switching from the agency model to the retail model, the manufacturer primarily relies on large and established dealership groups from the premium segment to build professional and efficient structures. These include, for example, the Weller Group with its dealerships B&K and AutoWeller in northern Germany, Riller & Schnauk in Berlin, the North Rhine-Westphalia-based Senger Group, and Ebert Automobile from Weinheim (Baden-Württemberg). In the course of further expansion, the importer aims to further improve nationwide coverage and to fill open points in the Cologne/Bonn metropolitan area as well as in Stuttgart in the short term. Corresponding discussions are already underway.
The Microlino, driven by a 12.5 kW/17 PS rear motor, is available starting at 19,490 euros with a 5.5 kWh battery, which allows ranges of up to 93 kilometers (according to WMTC testing procedures). Those who want to cover longer distances can opt for the 10.5 kWh battery (additional 2,000 euros) with a standard range of up to 177 kilometers (according to WMTC testing procedures).
