MG4 comes with a 77 kWh battery

Small car with a big battery: MG will soon optionally equip the MG4 with a 77 kWh battery, which should enable a WLTP range of up to 323 miles (approximately 520 kilometers). According to MG Motor, a DC charging process from ten to 80 percent takes 39 minutes. This would mean an average charging power of 83 kW during this window. MG does not (yet) specify the peak charging power in the announcement, but it is likely to be 125 kW plus.

Additionally, there is a stronger rear-wheel drive with 184 kW (250 PS) power, which can accelerate the MG4 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds. Interestingly, the M4 XPower with a second electric motor on the front axle and 320 kW (435 PS) is only offered with the 64 kWh battery.

The UK prices for the new MG4 Extended Range start at £36,495 (currently around €42,450). This means the MG4 will then be available in four drive versions: The Standard Range model has the 51 kWh LFP battery and rear-wheel drive, above it is the now "former" Long and new Mid-Range with a 64 kWh NMC battery and rear-wheel drive. With the powerful all-wheel-drive XPower and the new Extended Range with a larger battery and rear-wheel drive, two more variants have now been added – at least in the UK. Notably, we have also already spotted an XPower with Munich registration near MG's headquarters in Munich.
