MG introduces compact electric car
MG continues its resurgence. The first teaser video from MG shows a distinctive LED light strip at the rear, as well as a new design for the wheels and exterior mirrors, and contoured flanks. It is speculated that the MG4 will be positioned more towards the upper end of the compact segment, as it could receive a similar powertrain to the MG Marvel R Electric. The SUV is sold with all-wheel drive via two or three electric motors with 132 kW (180 hp) or 212 kW (288 hp).
If, instead, the powertrain of the ZS EV were to be installed, this would mean 115 kW (156 hp) to 130 kW (177 hp) and a 50.3 kWh or 70 kWh battery. The positioning will be eagerly awaited, especially since a roadster like the "Cyberster" is also planned.
What does this mean?
MG is increasingly venturing into new areas and thus also tends to return somewhat to its roots. The new models are intended to appeal especially to younger customers and car enthusiasts.
