Mercedes-Benz customers will be able to use Tesla Superchargers in North America starting in 2024. The manufacturer has now announced this. The aim is to increase the attractiveness of electric vehicles and their market penetration. They will be the first German car manufacturer to integrate NACS technology into their new electric vehicles from 2025 onward. As part of the phased transition, the company will initially offer an adapter to allow its electric vehicles with a CCS connection to charge at fast-charging points with NACS technology from 2024. In addition to integrating the Supercharger network, they plan to establish their own fast-charging network in collaboration with their American partners, featuring around 400 charging stations and more than 2,500 charging points in North America by the end of the decade. The manufacturer's first charging stations in North America will open in Q4 2023 and will be equipped with both CCS1 and NACS connectors.

“To accelerate the transition to electric vehicles, we aim to offer the best possible driving experience with their electric cars—including fast, convenient, and reliable charging solutions. This is why we are building our own global fast-charging network, with the first locations opening later this year. Additionally, we are introducing NACS in our vehicles, thus enabling access to a wide network of high-quality charging options in North America," explained Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG

Worldwide, the company plans to establish more than 2,000 Charging Hubs in North America, Europe, China, and other key markets by the end of the decade. In total, these will encompass more than 10,000 charging points, which can be expanded according to market demand. The brand's "Charging Hubs" will be accessible to electric vehicles of all brands, thereby benefiting a wide range of electric vehicles. Currently, the brand's customers can access more than 1.2 million charging points worldwide through the "me Charge" app. With its own charging network, the company aims to set a new standard for charging infrastructure and provide a convenient experience for fast, safe, and eco-friendly electric vehicle charging.
