Long-term test Kia EV6: Welcome back!

At 3,086 kilometers, it left us, only to return now with 10,836 kilometers: the Kia EV6 77.4 kWh RWD Baseline. This time, we get to test it extensively for three months.

Welcome back Kia! The EV6 RWD Baseline has returned – and was warmly welcomed! From now on, we will report every Friday on details that catch our eye on the still head-turning EV6 – both positive and negative.

Which we can start right away, because indeed the still young EV6 continues to attract the attention of passersby – especially with the futuristically designed rear end! However, in (again) damp-cold weather, the touch switch between climate control and infotainment is annoying when something else is running on the central screen. Fun idea, but instead of turning it down, we briefly set the temperature to ice-cold or vice versa: cranked up the volume massively, even though we just wanted a few degrees warmer – because in the heat of the moment we didn’t realize that our “switch” to the other menu didn’t work.

Otherwise: Get in, settle in, and go. On the whole, very few models are as easy and intuitive to operate as the EV6 – which you wouldn’t guess from its flamboyant rear end! Seats adjusted and we’re ready to go! We look forward to the next 10,000 kilometers – at least!

Ideally (for Kia), the EV6 would no longer turn so many heads - whoever can deliver is king at the moment, especially in the field of company and fleet vehicles, which the EV can certainly also shake up. The long-term consumption has so far been 23.6 kWh/100 km - let's see where we end up. We reset and start!

What does that mean?

While many car companies can no longer provide test vehicles due to supply issues or have massively shortened the test periods, Kia is sending us the EV6 for a second, longer-term test. And indeed, there are already internal interests within the publishing house to permanently bring F-PR 1189 E to Bavaria...
