Liefergrün expands leadership team and continues to grow
The Berlin-based logistics service provider Liefergrün, a specialist in sustainable and fair last-mile deliveries, is expanding its team of now 40 employees and appointing four new executives in the areas of sales, tech, logistics, and HR. With this reinforcement, the company aims to bring its vision of an emissions-free city closer. In the long term, Liefergrün aims to be the sustainable shipping option for every online shop. To diversify its customer portfolio, the company has brought Stephan Böhm on board, formerly Regional Sales Director North/East Germany at Hermes, who will take over the sales management from May 1.
“Today's logistics system is reaching its delivery capacity limits, and we need to act more consistently on the last mile. This means completely avoiding emissions instead of merely compensating for them. To do so, we also need to raise customer awareness in this area so that they choose emissions-free shipping methods," says Böhm.
For him, this includes flexible delivery options such as late package acceptance or next-day delivery. Germany is the largest market in Europe in this regard. In the future, German city centers should only be supplied sustainably, demands Stephan Böhm. Furthermore, Niko Uphoff will take on the role of CTO and Rim Breuer as Head of Logistics. Uphoff has experience from previous positions at Wunder Mobility and Veloyo. He aims to improve conditions for parcel couriers through technology and automated processes.
“I like to call myself a bike nerd and find delivering packages by (cargo) bike ideal. In many newly developed neighborhoods, it is no longer intended for delivery vehicles to drive up to residential buildings," explains Uphoff.
He wants to solve precisely this challenge with technology. On the other hand, Rim Breuer will lead logistics at Liefergrün. Previously, she created and implemented logistics concepts on a station and federal level as an Operation Excellence Manager at ANGEL Last Mile GmbH and Liefery. With her work and leadership experience, she is expected to lead the Liefergrün logistics team and processes from Berlin, where the fleet is currently growing fastest.
Recognition and fair working conditions for all
Fair wages for all employees and couriers as well as a respectful working environment are also part of Liefergrün's DNA. The company aims to promote an open corporate culture where everyone acts in an environmentally conscious manner. This is particularly the responsibility of Fikrete Asslani as Head of People, who brings over ten years of HR experience on board.
“Liefergrün creates a better delivery experience for consumers and retailers. The past two years have shown that more and more people trust exactly this experience," explains Niklas Tauch, CEO and co-founder of Liefergrün.
