LeasePlan partners with Digital Charging Solutions for charging cards
The new cooperation could further facilitate the work of mobility managers: The collaboration of the two companies includes the cards for electric charging of the LeasePlan customer fleet and the joint continuous development of technical features. This is intended to further optimize services and user-friendliness for electric car drivers. The basis is the simple and standardized access to charging stations across Europe, which Digital Charging Solutions has developed. This service, called "CHARGE NOW for Business," offers electric car drivers access to about 98 percent of all publicly available charging points in Germany and 95 percent of publicly available charging points in Europe.
Roland Meyer, Managing Director of LeasePlan Germany, explains:
"Digital Charging Solutions has made it their mission, just like us, to promote sustainable mobility worldwide. It fits perfectly, and we are very pleased with the intensive and innovative collaboration. For company car drivers of electric vehicles, we offer quick and easy location of charging stations, their easy use, and uncomplicated payment – just like our customers are used to with conventional fuel cards."
Mateo Sotomayor, Fleet Director Digital Charging Solutions adds:
"There are only a few players like LeasePlan that think of mobility progressively and holistically and want to help shape the future of mobility through their ambitious commitment. This makes DCS all the more pleased to have won LeasePlan as a partner. Because only when companies collectively shape mobility can electric car drivers be offered an attractive charging experience. With this cooperation, electric car drivers in small, medium-sized, and large companies now have access to a seamless charging experience."
Many small details should make charging easier
The highlights of the "CHARGE NOW for Business App" include, for example, Remote Start & Stop, which allows drivers to start and stop the charging process directly in the app – without a charging card. A route planner also makes charging easier and is intended to make longer trips well planable. Usage proceeds through entering the destination and selecting the route – then drivers find several charging stations along the way. Additionally, all stops can be exported to the preferred navigation application. Continuing from this, it is also possible to jump directly to the nearest charging station when searching for a location and see how far it is from the destination.
Other features also include a favorites list with live availability information. Each of the displayed charging stations can be rated by the users, for example. This way, drivers can better assess in advance whether they can easily charge on-site.
What does that mean?
Together, the two partners have put together an interesting "all-in package," which should noticeably facilitate the everyday (charging) life of users and mobility officers in electromobility.
