Lancia presents first details of the Pu+Ra concept
Lancia's CEO Luca Napolitano loves grand words and gestures: "The new Lancia concept stands as a manifesto for the brand's development over the next ten years," he emphasizes:
"As a 100 percent electric concept vehicle, it represents the further evolution of the Lancia Pu+Ra Zero design study, which we presented last November during the Lancia Design Day. The new concept vehicle gives a preview of the first vehicle model in the new era of Lancia. It features characteristics in terms of design, sustainability, technology, and electrification that will also be found in other future production vehicles from Lancia. We will officially unveil this new concept vehicle on April 15, 2023. I am confident that it will impress Lancia enthusiasts worldwide."
Tail Lights as a Reminiscence of the Stratos
One can be excited: The new Lancia concept vehicle features a rounded roof that offers a panoramic view and optimally utilizes natural light. This stylish and refined detail is reminiscent of the geometrical basic shapes typical of Lancia's design. The roof is also intended to harmoniously match the side line. The iconic round tail lights of the study are a "reference to the sporty soul of the brand and the legendary sports car Lancia Stratos." The newly redesigned Lancia logo is placed between the tail lights. Its typography is inspired by the fashion world.
Lancia will also define itself through the interior
The lines that extend into the side sections of the rear window reinterpret the characteristic, implied louvers on the C-pillars of the Lancia Beta HPE from the 1970s in a modern way. This design detail evokes associations with an elegant living room. An effect that is further enhanced by the large window surfaces of Lancia's new concept vehicle.
What does that mean?
Lancia's long comeback, that alone makes the brand legendary: Probably no car brand has ever been reduced to a single model sold in just one country – only to rise again! A very daring venture, for which probably only Italians can muster enough drama and passion – exciting times ahead!
