Kia offers a special electric taxi in Korea.
Kia has introduced the Kia Niro Plus for taxi use in their home country. This is a variant of the current generation of the e-Niro, which in its "civilian" version is also expected to be released in the German market later in 2022.
The taxi version is 80 millimeters higher and also 10 millimeters longer than the first generation of the E-Niro. Slimmer seats and thinner door panels are intended to improve space. Additional grab handles and door reflectors, which indicate the taxi, should also be available for order by regular customers.
The Korean taxi drivers will also receive an "all-in-one" display. In addition to the digital speedometer and navigation instructions, the functions of the taximeter are also to be displayed. The system is also supposed to provide information about nearby charging stations. An introduction of the Kia Niro Plus in Germany is currently not planned, according to the brand.
What does that mean?
With the taxi version of the e-Niro, Kia offers an interesting and affordable alternative in the taxi segment, a good idea actually also for Europe.
