Karsan has delivered the first batch of its new e-ATA electric bus series to Romania. Ten units of the 10-meter variant with a pantograph were delivered to the city of Slatina, creating modern solutions for public transport in cities.
With our range of electric buses from 6 to 18 meters, we offer flexible and environmentally friendly solutions for the growing demand for electric large-capacity buses in crowded cities. We made our first e-ATA export to Romania, where we have strengthened our presence with our vehicle fleet and customer service. Today, we aim to expand our fleet of more than 250 Karsan electric vehicles operating worldwide with the new buses that we will deliver to many cities in Europe starting next year. (Okan Baş, CEO of Karsan)
In total, Karsan has signed contracts for 56 e-ATA buses for Romania in 2022. This increases the brand's electric vehicle fleet in Europe to over 250 buses.
Seven different battery packages from 150 to 600 kWh
The e-ATA, inspired by the Turkish word "Ata", which stands for the oldest member of a family, is the largest bus model in Karsan's range of electric vehicles. The series, available with seven different battery packages from 150 to 600 kWh, can travel up to 450 km in its 12-meter version. With its fast-charging technology, the vehicles can also be charged in one to four hours depending on the size of the battery.
The maximum battery capacity is 300 kWh for the 10-meter variant, 450 kWh for the 12-meter bus, and 600 kWh for the 18-meter articulated bus model. The electric hub motors deliver a maximum power of 250 kW and a torque of 22,000 Nm for the 10 and 12-meter variants. The maximum power of 500 kW in the 18-meter version allows for high torque at full load.
Completely low-floor
The geometry of the e-ATA offers passengers a completely low-floor interior, promising unimpeded freedom of movement. Despite its high range, the series does not compromise on passenger capacity. Depending on the preferred battery capacity, the e-ATA can carry around 80 passengers in the 10-meter configuration, about 90 in the 12-meter configuration, and over 135 passengers in the 18-meter configuration.
