JOLT equips 40 Esso city stations with mobile fast chargers
The EG Group and the Munich-based mobile battery start-up Jolt Energy Group have announced an agreement to install MerlinOne fast-charging stations at up to 40 ESSO city-center stations owned and operated by EG in southern Germany in 2021. This development symbolizes the partners' commitment to ensuring the availability of convenient and accessible charging alternatives during the transition to e-mobility, according to a press release.
“Collaborating with JOLT underlines our commitment and our efforts to support sustainable mobility,” says Volker Friedemann, Country Manager EG Germany.
The MerlinOne charging station is specially designed and developed by JOLT and ADS-TEC in Germany for urban charging situations where the existing power grid makes the provision of high-performance charging difficult. "Once the project is operational, drivers will be able to recharge their weekly driving needs in 10 to 15 minutes, a significant improvement compared to existing home and street charging alternatives," advertises Maurice Neligan, CEO of JOLT.
The EG Group claims to be a globally leading independent convenience retailer with a diversified portfolio of over 6,000 locations in ten countries across North America, Europe, and Australia. The group operates around 1,000 gas stations in Germany.
