Jeep Avenger – Car of the Year 2023

The brand's first battery electric vehicle (BEV) was voted European Car of the Year 2023. It is the first vehicle of the brand to win this prestigious award in the 60-year history of the competition. The Avenger is the first model of the American brand created under the umbrella of the Stellantis group.

The introduction of the Avenger in Europe marks the beginning of the next phase of Jeep's electrification, with four all-electric vehicles set to be launched by 2025. By the end of 2030, Jeep's sales in Europe will be 100 percent purely electric. The new Avenger, with a length of only four meters, is positioned in the rapidly growing B-SUV segment, the second largest European segment, and is primarily aimed at active people looking for a vehicle with compact dimensions and modern technological features.

The new electric powertrain combines a 400-volt electric motor with 115 kilowatts and 260 Newton meters of maximum torque with a battery of 54 kilowatt-hours. This should give the small Jeep an electric range of up to 400 kilometers in the combined WLTP cycle and more than 550 kilometers in the WLTP City cycle.

57 jury members from 22 European countries voted the VW ID.Buzz into second place. The electric bus achieved 241 votes and 16 first-place votes. The Nissan Ariya came in third with 211 points, while the Kia Niro secured fourth place with 200 points. The Renault Austral took fifth place with 163 points, and the Peugeot 408 ranked sixth with 149 points. With 133 points, the Subaru Solterra/Toyota bZ4X had to settle for the last place in the ranking.
