The Italian commercial vehicle manufacturer Iveco has secured its first major order for the new electric Daily and will deliver 151 E-chassis of type 42S14E to Tesco, the leading supermarket chain in the UK, over the course of the year. The first vehicle has now been handed over. It is a model with two battery modules, which complements Tesco's delivery fleet, optimized for payload and range. Another 150 models in the version with two batteries will complement the growing Tesco electric vehicle fleet used for home delivery by the end of 2024.

This first eDaily features a modular battery concept and an electric motor with 140 kW and 400 Nm of torque. With a fast-charging capacity of 80 kW, the range can be extended by up to 100 kilometers in just 30 minutes. A 22 kW onboard charger allows the food service provider to charge the eDaily anywhere. The refrigeration unit is designed to fully utilize the benefits of the 15 kW PTO to cool perishable goods during delivery trips. A second 12 V PTO provides low-voltage power for additional cooling, creating a fully self-sufficient locally emission-free vehicle. Tesco is also expected to benefit from the eDaily's connectivity features, which allow the vehicle's driving modes to be controlled remotely to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. The Daily has been part of Tesco's nationwide delivery fleet since 2010. The manufacturer boasts of the best-in-class turning circle.
