International busplaner Sustainability Award 2024 launched
Climate change and its effects on humanity are taking increasingly threatening forms such as droughts, floods, wildfires, and severe storms. This makes strategies for addressing it more urgent than ever. At the top of the agenda: solutions in the transportation sector, which has increased its CO2 emissions in recent years instead of reducing them. In addition to politics, vehicle and component manufacturers are especially called upon – and their efforts to find alternatives to the classic combustion engine as well as many other more sustainable solutions for the environment and climate. In passenger transport as well, new pathways are increasingly being sought at the EU level under the Clean Vehicles Directive.
Ideas for groundbreaking new developments are now in demand, which HUSS-VERLAG will accompany and support with the IBNP. The aim of the biennial competition is to encourage manufacturers and service providers within the bus industry, as well as bus companies, in the development of sustainable products and sustainable actions.
"The bus as a mobility guarantor is an important mode of transport without which the transition cannot succeed. We are therefore looking forward to exciting applications to make our contribution in presenting sustainable and innovative developments to a wider audience," says HUSS-VERLAG Managing Director Rainer Langhammer.
Awards will be given to vehicle models from electric to fuel cell buses, vehicle components and fittings, accessories, telematics, service, and infrastructure. The sustainability level of the product or service is considered in the evaluation, as well as the quality of the application.
Manufacturers and service providers can now apply with their products and projects for the IBNP 2024 by January 29, 2024, via the following link, provided they verifiably combine economic success with social responsibility and environmental protection.

The awards are presented in thirteen categories. All submitted applications are evaluated by a high-caliber jury of industry experts based on a point system.
Additionally, three special awards will go to transport companies, tour operators, or tourism destinations and experience worlds, all of which are proposed and honored by the busplaner editorial team. During a gala event on April 23, 2024, on the eve of BUS2BUS in Berlin, all awards will be ceremoniously presented.
