IAA Mobility 2023 Recap 4: Audi and Porsche – Including E-Bikes
Stands could hardly be more different: While Audi preferred discreet elegance, Porsche made a bang with its super 911. Both stands were crowded, even though both were indulging more in concept cars than in real e-mobility. What impressed us the most, however, was the “bike rental” at the end of each stand, which enjoyed brisk bookings.
Accordingly, many Porsche and Audi bicycles were seen in the English Garden. One remains curious about where Porsche will showcase its super 911 next – in our opinion clearly the most striking stand of all – with enough space for many products that could increasingly become more electric, besides the 911.
At Audi, they are currently taking a breather: Marc Lichte and his design team are currently providing the lead in visuals before the Q6 e-tron and the electric A6 soon go into series production. Both were already present on the exhibition grounds.
What does this mean?
As striking as the Porsche stand was, Audi appeared understated. Behind the scenes, both brands are currently being increasingly merged – thanks to the "harmonizer" Oliver Blume.
