IAA MOBILITY 2023: Bicycle and Cargo Bike - Final of the Cargobike of the Year

The organizer of IAA MOBILITY 2023 (September 5-10, 2023), the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), has announced that it will host the award ceremony for the "International Cargobike of the Year" (CABOTY). Additionally, the second edition of the trade fair in Munich is set to welcome a range of new exhibitors from the bike industry. For the fourth time, HUSS-VERLAG, with its magazine LOGISTRA, is launching the competition for the "International Cargobike of the Year," which has now established itself in the market as a platform for the innovations of the young but booming cargobike industry.

“Not only in private use but especially in commercial applications, e-cargo bikes are seen by many experts as having great potential. When properly combined, for example with micro depots and e-trucks in the preliminary stage, they can become game changers in urban logistics and achieve the impossible: more shipments with fewer emissions. From the beginning, we wanted to cover this important trend for climate protection and the traffic revolution with our reporting in our magazine LOGISTRA and our award, thus honoring the manufacturers' innovative spirit,” explains HUSS-VERLAG Managing Director Rainer Langhammer.

A jury of experienced bicycle logistics professionals assesses the numerous innovations of the CABOTY candidates in a compact process and filters out the most suitable, technically innovative, and economically viable models for commercial purposes in the categories “Light Cargo Bikes”, “Heavy Cargo Bikes”, and “Cargo Bike Trailers”. These are then awarded at a dedicated ceremony at the trade fair.
