The IAA Conference has announced its lineup of speakers and aims to advance the discourse on traffic and mobility transformation as part of the IAA MOBILITY and the IAA Summit from September 5-8, 2023, at the Messegelände in Munich. With over 500 "visionaries, key opinion leaders, and decision-makers," the organizer VDA stated that the IAA Conference is the most important international forum for trade visitors from all areas of the mobility sector. The Conference is seen as the "center for experts and shapers of the mobility world." A first list of the IAA Conference speakers has now been published.

"The selection of speakers clearly shows that we have hit the mark with the IAA Conference. The interest in topics related to climate-friendly and digital mobility is enormous. It's clear: The IAA MOBILITY will not only showcase innovative mobility. The IAA Conference also allows trade visitors to gain the latest insights into the future of mobility and provides a direct link to globally renowned thought leaders," says Jürgen Mindel, Managing Director of VDA.

The future of mobility is being created now, commented Stefan Hartung, Chairman of the Management Board of Robert Bosch GmbH. It is important to bring people along on this journey. Hartung sees dialogue formats like the IAA Conference as ideal for this purpose and wants to provide an insight into developments at Bosch, especially in electromobility, automated driving, and the software sector.

"The entire transport sector must come together more closely to fully exploit CO2 reduction potentials. With intelligently linked offerings and new mobility forms, we want to inspire people with climate-friendly alternatives to individual transport. The IAA Mobility shows what potentials are possible, and the railway as a partner shows that we firmly believe in this shift," says Richard Lutz, Chairman of the Board of Deutsche Bahn AG.

Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr sees the necessity of technological advancement for all modes of transportation to make the mobility of tomorrow more climate-friendly. From his perspective, the IAA MOBILITY not only presents innovations and technological developments for the automotive sector but also provides a platform for the exchange of intermodal concepts.

"The digital transformation of the automotive industry is happening right before our eyes, with constant cloud connectivity, advanced data processing, and artificial intelligence. The industry's shift to software-defined vehicles opens up enormous opportunities for growth, new experiences, and safer, more efficient transport. I'm very pleased to see how Qualcomm is actively working with leading automakers worldwide to realize their visions and shape the future of digital mobility," explains Cristiano Amon, President, and CEO of Qualcomm Incorporated.

The automotive industry and the mobility sector, in general, are currently undergoing the greatest transformation in their history, also states Christophe Périllat, CEO of Valeo. He emphasizes the industry's contribution to the "decarbonization of the world."

"It will be difficult and bring many challenges, but it is already incredible how quickly the entire industry has adapted to this change. Valeo has long prepared for this and actively contributes with its technologies for the automotive industry and new mobility," Périllat advocated.

Other speakers include: Martin Brudermüller (CEO BASF), Arnd Franz (CEO Mahle), Dr. Brian Hongdi Gu (Vice Chairman Xpeng), Meredith Glaser (Executive Director Urban Cycling Institute), Thomas Ingenlath (CEO Polestar), Hildegard Müller (President VDA), Sandra Wolf (CEO Riese & Müller), and several more.

International Cooperation Partners, Keynotes and Discussions on the Future of Mobility

According to the organizers VDA and Messe München, the IAA Conference concept is attracting great interest from various cooperation partners. The trade fair brings together international partners such as the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT), the MIT Mobility Initiative, the University of St. Gallen, the World Economic Forum (WEF), and the "Women in Mobility" network. Conference sponsors include Amazon Web Services and Accenture, among others. The commitment of various organizations shows that the concept is of great relevance.

The IAA Conference takes place on three large stages in the halls of the IAA Summit at the Munich exhibition center, as well as the two dialogue areas "Visionary Clubhouse" and "Smart Mobility Space, powered by PwC". Topics such as connectivity & data, sustainability, or urban mobility, as well as the potential of Generative AI for the mobility sector, offer an extensive program on the mobility topics of the future. Keynotes, sessions, and fireside chats provide numerous networking opportunities over four days. The socio-political debate and critical dialogue are just as much the focus as the depiction of socially relevant and diverse topics by key opinion leaders. Most program points are held in English and are curated content-wise by the IAA Conference team in collaboration with renowned partners, according to the organizer.
