Hyundai/Ionity: Affordable HPC charging for 29 cents/kWh
The Hyundai Motor Group has now bundled affordable price packages with reduced electricity tariffs for customers as part of its involvement in the Ionity joint venture. Under the Charge myHyundai charging rates "Flex" and "Easy", owners of a battery-electric Hyundai model are to benefit from significant price advantages in the Ionity network.
"We have particularly focused on frequent and long-distance drivers among the owners of our electric vehicles and want to show once again with this offer that you can confidently go on long trips with our long-range electrically powered Hyundai models under very attractive conditions," outlines Jürgen Keller, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Deutschland GmbH.
This is especially true for the flagship model, the crossover IONIQ 5 with 800-volt technology, Keller adds. By paying a monthly basic fee of 13 euros, drivers of the brand can access noticeably lower charging prices at Ionity fast-charging stations. Customers with a premium package pay 29 cents per kilowatt-hour instead of the usual 79 cents. The manufacturer waives the basic fee for the premium package for one year for all Ioniq 5 customers. The offer applies to both future buyers and customers who already own or have ordered such a model. Interested parties must register by June 30, 2022.
"Using an electric car is easier than ever before. A comprehensively available charging infrastructure, combined with transparent prices, is key to maintaining the momentum of electromobility," says Andreas-Christoph Hofmann, Vice President Marketing and Product at Hyundai Motor Europe.
The mid-size CUV supports ultra-fast charging with charging capacities of up to 220 kilowatts (kW), making it the first vehicle in its segment with 800-volt battery voltage. The 350-kW high-performance chargers, available at all Ionity charging stations, can charge the CUV's batteries from ten to 80 percent of their capacity in 18 minutes, and in five minutes, you can get enough power for a further 100 kilometers. The combination of ultra-fast charging, a maximum range of up to 481 kilometers according to WLTP standards, and the Europe-wide fast-charging network makes owning an electric vehicle significantly easier, argues the manufacturer.
In addition to the more than 400 Ionity fast-charging stations in 24 European countries, Charge myHyundai gives its customers access to around 300,000 charging points in 29 countries, thanks to a partnership with the proven service of Digital Charging Solutions (DCS). Electric vehicle users have access not only to alternating current (AC) stations but also to DC fast-charging stations with direct current.
