Hyundai: Purchase and leasing online
The Korean automobile manufacturer Hyundai and its German subsidiary are further advancing the digitalization of sales. In a first step, the Advantage special models of the i20, Kona, and Tucson can now be purchased entirely online and selected according to predefined colors and engines. After specifying the desired term (24, 36, or 48 months) and mileage (10,000 – 30,000 km per year), the monthly leasing fees are displayed. In the next step, an optional tech service package and comprehensive insurance can be booked at a flat rate. Once identity and creditworthiness are verified, the contract documents are sent by mail. From this point, the dealer takes over and keeps the customer continuously informed about the status of their order until delivery – which usually takes place within three to four weeks. The leasing rates for the i20 Advantage start at 142 euros, for the Kona Advantage, a monthly rate from 210 euros is due, and for the Tucson, a monthly rate starting at 220 euros should be planned.
Showroom in Elsenfeld: The Future is Digital
As the first manufacturer, Hyundai has been offering the possibility to virtually enter an online showroom equipped with current models since February 2020. Although the potential buyer is not on-site, the 350 square meter exhibition hall in Franconian Elsenfeld is as real as the four cars standing there. Equally real are the seven presenters who provide comprehensive, detailed, and individual information about the product – up to the complete configuration of a new car. Except on holidays, the online showroom is open seven days a week, daily from 10 AM to 10 PM. Access to the online showroom is via the Hyundai homepage. This is intended to be another step for Hyundai Motor Germany to profitably utilize the advancing digitalization together with their trading partners. Jürgen Keller, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Germany, states:
“Many of our partners have set up an online sales system on their own during the closure of their sales rooms and support our decision to now additionally offer online leasing.”
