Hypermotion 2019 Summary: Central Platform for Marketable Solutions

From November 26 to 28, 2019, technology drivers and experts for new solutions in traffic, transport, infrastructure, and logistics gathered at the Frankfurt fairgrounds in Hall 1.2. For the first time, the German Mobility Congress and the STUVA Conference, the event for the tunnel construction industry, also welcomed their guests at the Frankfurt fairgrounds. According to Messe Frankfurt, around 3,000 participants networked with the goal of advancing the mobility transition. The next Hypermotion will take place in Frankfurt from November 10 to 12, 2020.

"The traffic transition is here. Now it's about developing marketable solutions for the future – for this, Hypermotion in Frankfurt, a mobility hub in a geocentral location, is the ideal platform. Over the past three days, numerous users and providers have met here, all with one goal: to find new business models for the traffic, transport, infrastructure, mobility, and logistics of tomorrow," said Detlef Braun, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt, drawing a positive conclusion.

Innovative and international

Visitors could experience innovative and cross-traffic technologies and services live in the exhibition hall. From ridesharing, mobility-on-demand, and new vehicle concepts to alternative propulsion forms, cargo bikes, drones, hyperloop, and digital solutions on the topics of supply chain and last mile. According to the organizers, participants from 27 countries attended the mobility fair. Moreover, a high-ranking delegation from Dubai was also present – according to Messe Frankfurt, they plan to make the next move of Hypermotion parallel to the World Expo 2020. Additionally, the STUVA Conference and Expo, the event for the tunnel construction industry, provided fresh perspectives. It took place concurrently in Hall 5.1 and attracted 3,300 visitors according to the press release. VISIONmobility participated with two ThinkTanks on the topics of "Alternative Mobility in the City" and "Last Mile: Engine off – New Concepts from Micromobility to Cargo Bikes."

Best Practice Solutions at EXCHAiNGE

As part of Hypermotion, the two-day Supply Chain Conference EXCHAiNGE took place with seven sessions and two live pitches. During the Award Night on November 27, the Supply Chain Management Award was presented for outstanding SCM concepts, and the Smart Solutions Award was given for particularly innovative concepts that are still in an early stage of implementation. The Supply Chain Award was granted to Continental for its "Fast Forward 2030" vision, and the Smart Solutions Award 2019 went to ParcelLab. Other finalists for the Supply Chain Management Award included Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services, Nokia, and Robert Bosch. Competing against ParcelLab for the Smart Solutions Award were Magazino, Metrilus, and shipcloud. The audience on site also had a vote, which was incorporated into the jury decision via live voting on November 26.
