hypermotion 2018: Connected Action in Mobility and Logistics

After a successful premiere event with more than 2,500 visitors last year, Hypermotion 2018 is kicking off its second edition. This year, participants will meet from November 20 to 22, 2018, in Frankfurt to discuss topics related to transport, mobility, logistics, and infrastructure. Hypermotion is a mixture of an interactive trade fair, exciting conferences, and the Hypermotion Lab, which acts as an arena for start-ups, future innovators, and established leaders. The goal is to create a "living digital ecosystem" from the theoretical concept of networked collaboration. The exhibition operates under the premise that one does not choose a specific mode of transport, but rather acts situationally and route-dependently. The organizer, Messe Frankfurt, has identified seven focal areas: "Connectivity," "Synchronised & Urban Logistics," "Monitoring & Transparency," "Data Analytics & Security," "Sustainability," "Smart & Digital Regions," and "Hypermodality."

"What I find very exciting is the connection between logistics and mobility. I get the impression that it helps when companies that have been working in this field for a long time are in close exchange with retailers, logistics service providers, but also start-ups, research institutions, academic institutions, politics, and administration," says Prof. Dr.-Ing. Uwe Clausen, head of the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML, about Hypermotion.

Logistics Digital Conference LDC! and new module "s=mc²"

The exhibition is accompanied by an extensive conference with various modules. This includes the Logistics Digital Conference LDC! by HUSS-VERLAG GmbH, in which sister magazines VISION mobility, LOGISTRA, and LOGISTIK HEUTE also participate content-wise. Additionally, the long-established logistics specialist conference "EXCHAiNGE – The Supply Chainers Conference" has joined Hypermotion this year. A new conference module called "s=mc²" (Smart Mobility Conference + Communications) focused on sustainable urban mobility has also been introduced.
