The Singapore-based startup Hiperon has now released initial details about its global compact electric van. It is set to roll out in the second quarter, starting in North America, Europe, and China. The starting price for the base version is stated by the manufacturer to be 49,900 US dollars, with the top version costing 62,000 US dollars, currently 44,700 and 55,500 euros respectively. Reservations for the vehicle have already started. The entirely new electric transporter positions itself just above the popular 3.0-ton class and measures 5.66 meters in length, two meters in width, and 2.01 meters in height. This makes it especially wider and significantly longer than, for example, a VW Transporter, Mercedes Vito, or Opel Vivaro. However, its payload is 995 kilos, which is on par with the 3.0-ton class.

A 75-kWh battery is expected to allow up to 320 km range

The technical package includes a powerful 198-kW electric motor and a 75-kWh lithium-ion battery, which is expected to enable the vehicle to cover up to 320 kilometers. The top version’s features include an adaptive cruise control, keyless go-start system, navigation system, 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitor, brake assist, steering wheel controls, and a 15" OLED screen. The exterior mirrors are replaced by cameras. The strikingly smooth-surfaced van was designed by the European design studio One One Lab.

The new E-Van is set to come in three versions: as the Carrier cargo van, as the Hermes bus with up to 12 seats, and as a platform chassis under the name Demeter. Another variant, a compact courier van, is in development, as the manufacturer announced. Additionally, they promise environmentally friendly production and the use of sustainable materials in the vehicle. The new provider from the Far East confidently announced that they aim to tackle the emission problem in the delivery sector.
