has·to·be enters THG quota trading
The Salzburg-based charging infrastructure operator has-to-be has expanded its service to include a GHG quota service, which provides customers with access to the emissions trading system that has been in place since the beginning of the year. The German Federal Immission Control Act supports eMobility by requiring petroleum companies to reduce the carbon emissions of the fuels they supply. They must compensate for emissions they cannot reduce through penalty payments or trading in low-carbon fuels, as the provider outlines.
The service aims to offer a simple and profitable access to the German quota trading system. Customers receive a guaranteed fixed price regardless of market developments throughout the year, according to the promise. For each kilowatt-hour of electricity traded and delivered from a publicly accessible charging station, the provider also invests one cent in the expansion of renewable energies.
The trading process works such that the customers of the charging infrastructure operator grant it the exclusive right to conduct emissions quota trading for all electricity delivered via publicly accessible charging points. The Salzburg-based company takes care of the certification of the electricity with the municipalities and the emissions quota trading with petroleum companies. In turn, the operators of the charging infrastructure receive revenues from the emissions quota trading at a fixed price set for the entire trading year.
