Eco-conscious travel is booming. Visitors increasingly want to travel with a green conscience, and Wirelane is well aware of this. The Munich-based charging infrastructure experts have therefore joined the "GreenCommunity" of GreenSign to establish "innovative charging infrastructure solutions" in the hospitality industry.

"Sustainable tourism is more in demand than ever, and the current situation significantly increases the pressure for change on the hotel industry," comments Hakan Ardic, Vice President & Mobility at Wirelane. "For us, the InfraCert Institute with their GreenSign sustainability seal is the perfect cooperation partner to help hoteliers respond to the increasing pressures of change and sustainability."

Demanding Testing System

InfraCert, the Institute for Sustainable Development in the Hospitality Industry, awards the GreenSign seal to environmentally friendly projects, which, according to the institute, follows an "integrated and mature testing system" that "structures, evaluates, and documents the ecological, social, and economic aspects of hotel management in over 90 criteria." This aims to motivate sustainability activities and promote the efficient optimization of operational processes.

In the case of Wirelane, the focus is on "future-proof charging stations (wall boxes, single or double pillars), innovative control and operator software, and comprehensive operational and billing services." This means the entire process is accompanied, significantly facilitating both installation and commissioning.

High Demands from Customers and Climate

"Sustainability and hospitality should already begin before the hotel. By offering charging options for electric cars or plug-in hybrids, hotels can further strengthen their sustainable strategies and offer their guests an additional added value that also pays off as an additional source of revenue. With the mobility transition, the demands of guests are changing, and many hoteliers have already recognized this. We notice a significantly increased interest from our GreenSign certified hotels in the GreenCommunity in legally compliant charging infrastructure. We are proud to welcome Wirelane as a partner in our sustainable network, thus expanding our community, which serves as an interface between suppliers, partners, and hoteliers," explains Suzann Heinemann from InfraCert.

According to the institute, GreenSign is the market leader for sustainability seals for hotels in Germany and is also established internationally in over 250 certified hotels in 14 countries.
