Geotab has established the Geotab Sustainability Alliance to support fleet operators with innovative solutions to work more efficiently and reduce their carbon footprint. Initially, the Alliance consists of 28 partners who possess not only extensive expertise but also years of experience to assist fleets with a variety of tasks. These tasks include promoting their sustainability efforts, reducing risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Traffic causes a large portion of greenhouse gases, with trends stagnating or increasing

The decarbonization of traffic is a highly complex issue that requires cross-industry collaboration. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the transportation sector is responsible for nearly a quarter (23 percent) of global greenhouse gas emissions, and in Germany, the Environmental Protection Agency attributes 19 percent of emissions to the sector. The Geotab Sustainability Alliance aims to promote the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and a sustainable transformation in fleet management through innovative solutions and useful data insights. This enables companies to make informed decisions, measure their progress, and implement new measures to achieve their goals. Neil Cawse, founder and CEO of Geotab, explains:

“Data insights are crucial for companies to measure and reduce their environmental impact and thus become more sustainable. The Geotab Sustainability Alliance accelerates this change and not only helps them achieve their goals but also improves their business outcomes.”

The Geotab Sustainability Alliance consists of a diverse range of stakeholders, including OEMs for electric vehicles offering connected vehicle solutions, providers of charge management and charging stations to optimize charging and reduce costs and CO2 emissions, fuel management experts to lower fuel consumption and the carbon footprint, as well as partners for route optimization to increase efficiency and reduce emissions. Additionally, the Alliance includes consultants for electric fleets and sustainability, who support electrification and sustainability strategies with data-based solutions, as well as providers of innovative solutions like ESG software, battery management, and Charging-as-a-Service. The Alliance's partner solutions are integratable into vehicle telematics, promoting the efficiency and decarbonization of fleets, and simplifying the management of electric vehicle fleets with central dashboards and key data via the Geotab Marketplace.

These integrated solutions also benefit from Geotab's leadership role in supporting multiple OEMs and over 300 EV brands, models, and data.

The big goal: Together for a cleaner future

Klaus Böckers, Vice President of Nordics, Central, and Eastern Europe at Geotab, gets straight to the point:

“More and more companies are investing in the sustainability of their fleets to reduce costs and emissions. Therefore, there is a growing need for high-quality data to optimize fuel efficiency, route planning, and electric vehicle charging. With the Geotab Sustainability Alliance, we are driving decarbonization and the spread of electric mobility further. We offer the combined solutions and expertise to support fleet operators in overcoming their challenges and adapting to a rapidly evolving industry. We are excited to build an ecosystem with our partners to usher in a new era of clean mobility.”

The Geotab Sustainability Alliance is steadily growing and currently includes: 7Gen, Ampcontrol, Atom Power, AYRO, BetterFleet, bp pulse, ChargePoint, Deloitte, Descartes, EO Charging, EV Connect, Evolectric, Flipturn, InCharge Energy, Lion Electric, Make My Day, Motiv Power Systems, MoveEV, Route4Me, Sawatch Labs, SEA Electric, Siemens AG, Synop, tenstreet, Tropos Technologies, Unique Electric Solutions, Volteum, and WideSense.

What does it mean?

Geotab is serious, and in conversation with Klaus Böckers, it quickly became clear to us: He is in it for the cause, as he is also among those who want to rapidly advance decarbonization primarily because they fear that time is running out. Hence, the approach of tackling things together is definitely the right one!
