Genesis GV70 is also coming electrically
The GV70 electric vehicle is powered by one motor on both the front and rear axles, each delivering 160 kW (218 hp) and 350 Newton meters of torque. In overboost mode, the total output of the Genesis Electrified GV70 can reach up to 360 kW (489 hp). This allows the model to sprint to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.
The expected range per battery charge is more than 500 kilometers according to Chinese standards, although in real terms, it is likely to be around 350 kilometers.
The electric GV70 also employs 800-volt technology for fast charging. As a result, the high-voltage battery can be charged from ten to eighty percent of its capacity in under 20 minutes at a 350 kW fast-charging station. Additionally, the GV70 can supply power to external devices via a 230-volt outlet – or even provide a "jump start" for other electric vehicles. All this is possible up to a battery capacity of 20 percent.
The vehicle is designed for one-pedal driving and features active noise cancellation, which is supposed to make it even quieter. When and at what prices the electric GV70 will come to Europe is still unclear.
What does this mean?
With the GV70, Genesis is adopting a dual approach – it is available as both an internal combustion engine vehicle and an electric vehicle. This differentiates it somewhat from Ioniq and Kia's EV models, which use the same components but are only offered as EVs.
