Genesis Face Connect - GV60 recognizes driver by face

The world's first facial recognition technology in a car made its European debut at Salon Privé in London. The Salon Privé London takes place in April for three days in the heart of London on the lawn of the historic Royal Hospital Chelsea and is a spectacular collection of the best supercars, sports cars, and luxury cars. In addition to the most prestigious brands, over 60 stunning classic cars will be displayed at the Concours de Vente - all of which can be purchased on site.

Technology like in smartphones

The Face Connect technology gives the driver the ability to unlock their car with just their face – a technology already available on millions of smartphones worldwide. Using a facial recognition sensor in the B-pillar of the vehicle and a deep learning image processing controller, the GV60 can be locked and unlocked without the need for a physical key.

Once the Key, Once the Fingerprint

The driver only needs the physical key once to set up their profile for facial recognition. Afterwards, the vehicle is started with their fingerprint, with all information securely stored via encrypted software within the vehicle and managed through the human-machine interface (HMI). The driver can rest assured that at no point will biometric data be uploaded or stored.
