Fuso: Another eCanter drives into the city for Post NL

Daimler Trucks has continued the delivery of its all-electric Fuso eCanter in the Netherlands. In 2020, PostNL, one of the first customers of the electric light truck, expanded its fleet of locally emission-free light commercial vehicles with four more eCanters. These vehicles are used in the urban distribution traffic of Stadslogistiek, an innovative urban delivery initiative by PostNL. As a result, a total of six models are now operating for Stadslogistiek in the Dutch cities of The Hague (2 vehicles), Nijmegen, Tilburg, Amersfoort, and Maastricht.

With the Stadslogistiek initiative, PostNL and its partners aim to make urban delivery logistics smarter and more sustainable. Partners of the initiative are freight forwarding companies with advantageous locations on the outskirts of the city. Together, they have established so-called Green City Hubs (logistics centers) there. The customers of Stadslogistiek are mainly companies in the city center. Their suppliers have agreed to deliver all goods to the hubs instead of directly to various delivery addresses in the city center, the manufacturer further outlines. Stadslogistiek collects all the goods from there and consolidates the deliveries to customers in the city center.
