Under the label Free Now for Business, the Hamburg-based platform provider Free Now intends to offer corporate clients a mobility budget in the future. With this budget, companies could enable their employees to use taxis, rental cars with drivers, e-scooters, e-mopeds, or car-sharing vehicles for private trips as well. How such a budget works for the transportation services mediated by Free Now is currently being tested by the BMW and Daimler joint venture with more than 2,000 employees from various companies across different industries. After the test phase, whose duration is not specified in the press release, it will be offered across Europe. Free Now sees a mobility budget as an opportunity for corporate mobility management. It could be an alternative to the job ticket or company car. The app intermediary, in particular, sees a need for more flexible mobility options among young employees.
