Framo: Cooperation with FES creates capacity for up to 1,000 electric trucks annually
With an extensive collaboration, the Thuringian electrification specialist Framo and FES GmbH Fahrzeug-Entwicklung Sachsen aim to increase the capacity of conversions. They plan to produce up to 1,000 electric commercial vehicles per year in the future.
"At the same time, production costs are sustainably reduced, and we can work more resource-efficiently on both sides," believes Serhat Yilmaz, responsible for marketing, business development, investor relations and sales at Framo.
Yilmaz further states that this cooperation is very promising for both companies because it creates the production capacities demanded by customers in Europe. He also announced the joint development of a hydrogen truck. Purely battery-electric vehicles excel in their climate-friendliness, particularly in short and medium distances. For long-haul routes, the logistics industry is still seeking an economical solution for emission-free heavy transport. The partners Framo and FES see this solution in fuel cell technology. With the hydrogen truck, they intend to fill the critical market gap in the transport business in the future.
"With our fuel cell system, we can reduce the vehicle weight by at least half a ton. Compared to pure battery drive, our hydrogen truck thus achieves more range and of course more payload. This makes the vehicle not only more economical but also significantly more ecological for long-distance routes," promises Yilmaz.
