Formula E: Maserati to Join in 2023
Back to the roots: With the return to the racetrack, Maserati renews its racing spirit, which is part of its DNA. Maserati is the first Italian brand to compete in Formula E. This also means Maserati is committing to electric racing. All new Maserati series models will be available as 100% electric solutions, including Maserati Grecale, Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio, as well as the super sports car Maserati MC20.
Maserati will start from Season 9 with the new Gen3, the fastest, lightest, and most powerful Formula E racing car ever. The Gen3 is the most efficient racing car in the world and features a range of industry-leading design, production, and technology innovations.
What does that mean?
Many manufacturers are currently dropping out – for Stellantis, Maserati is an ideal fit. Whether they will take over the starting place of DS Techeetah or compete internally against DS is still open. In any case, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship offers Maserati an excellent platform to revive the brand's racing tradition.
