The automobile manufacturer Ford has expanded the lineup of its SUV model with a full-hybrid variant that comes standard with all-wheel drive. The vehicle combines a 2.5-liter Duratec gasoline engine with a battery-powered electric motor, achieving a system output of 140 kW (190 hp), with the gasoline engine contributing 112 kW (152 hp) and the electric motor 92 kW (125 hp). According to the manufacturer, this combination, which includes an efficient gasoline engine linked to a CVT transmission operating in the Atkinson cycle and a 1.1 kWh battery, allows for a total range of up to 1,000 kilometers. This corresponds to a fuel consumption of 5.3 l/100 km in the best case, and the vehicle can travel short distances purely on electric power under partial load. The full-hybrid is the third electrified powertrain option in the new Kuga model family, following the mild-hybrid (mHEV with 48-volt technology) and the plug-in hybrid (PHEV). Additionally, there is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost turbocharged gasoline engine available in two power levels, as well as two EcoBlue turbocharged diesel engines. All engines comply with the Euro 6d-ISC-FCM emission standard. Prices start at 36,798 euros including VAT.
