Fisker is starting again, also in Europe. The founder and CEO Henrik Fisker was pleased to hand over the first Fisker Ocean in Copenhagen. The vehicle is an exemplar of the limited Ocean "One Launch Edition". The Fisker Ocean "One" and "Extreme" models are expected to offer the highest range of any battery SUV on the European market, with up to 707 kilometers according to the WLTP standard.

The first showrooms have been open since April

Since April 2023, Fisker has been gradually opening its European locations, called "Fisker Center +", starting initially in Vienna and (of course) Copenhagen. In addition to a showroom and the possibility for test drives, the locations offer vehicle deliveries and service. The first German Fisker location is being established in Munich on Kaufinger Street near Marienplatz. Further European centers are planned in London, Paris, and Oslo.

In Germany, there are four versions starting at 41,560 euros gross, equivalent to an affordable 34,925 euros net. The exact date when deliveries will begin in this country is still uncertain. The Ocean is manufactured by Magna in Austria. Fisker's origin and the contract manufacturer are likely the reasons for the start in Denmark and Austria. From Graz, the Ocean will also be exported to the USA.

In 2023, Fisker aims to conclude with 42,400 produced electric cars. By mid-2024, the capacity for the Ocean could further grow with an additional production site in the USA. In the long term, the startup may build its own factory according to the CEO – possibly even in Germany.

Fisker also plans battery swap stations

Interesting: Together with the US technology company Ample, Fisker plans to offer the Ocean with automated replaceable batteries in the USA and Europe from early 2024. Initially, fleet operators are the target group. According to Fisker, Ample's technology enables the rapid establishment of an electric car infrastructure, allowing Fisker to make its vehicles available in larger markets more quickly.

What does it mean?

Fisker has learned from past experiences: after the first start with the "Karma", he has now outsourced the entire production to Magna and is planning a cautious first year with a good 42,000 units. Nothing specific is yet known about the qualities of the Ocean – but it could indeed be an affordable and economical alternative to the establishment.
