Fiat Topolino: Minnie Mouse

He indulges in his own face and own "rear," along with a pretty interior and optionally forgoes doors: Fiat's Topolini is the third light vehicle in the Stellantis group and, in our opinion, the best executed. It too clearly references the first Fiat 500, is only delivered in green, and can be ordered with just a few clicks.

In Germany, this 2.53-meter short vehicle, which can reach a speed of 45 km/h, can be used by young drivers from the age of 15. The new Fiat Topolino is expected to launch in Germany at the end of 2023. In Italy, prices start at 7,499 euros after subsidies. The little mouse and its siblings are produced in Morocco.

Special Accessories

Fiat has developed special accessories and its own campaign for the small vehicle. It is actively promoted as a city speedster for downtown, which could actually work better in Italy than elsewhere. For instance, there's a small shower for a beach trip or a roll-up blanket that can be laid on the dashboard.

In the new Fiat Topolino, the brand's commitment to sustainability is especially focused on reducing CO2 and noise emissions in urban areas. Furthermore, the 2.53-meter-long electric vehicle takes up very little space in tight city environments.

Old Name, New Concept

In the current model lineup, the Fiat Topolino is, according to the press release, "the baby of the Fiat 500 Electric" - but the name and design are derived from the historic Fiat 500 "Topolino." The model built from 1936 to 1955 was a bestseller as an affordable small car and was affectionately called "Topolino" – Italian for "Mickey Mouse."

There are two body variants available: open and closed. They are uniform not only in their central structure but also in their shared color. The new Fiat Topolino generally appears in a fresh mint green. The special wheel design and interior are also the same in both body variants. The 5.4 kWh battery allows a range of up to 75 kilometers and can be fully charged in less than four hours. The storage spaces offer 63 liters of interior volume and are arranged in such a way that a suitcase can be stowed between the seats, as is the case with its siblings.

For the closed version, door applications with a wood effect are available. For the open version, fresh summery stripes can be chosen for the roof. Both versions carry a box at the rear for storing luggage. The exterior mirrors shine in vintage chrome effect. The open body variant features its own design of the door sills and ropes in the door cutouts. For the closed version, a sunshade is available on the roof.
