Fiat: 500e set to electrify North America - but not until 2024
At the Los Angeles Auto Show, Olivier Francois, CEO of Fiat and Global CMO of Stellantis, officially announced plans to introduce the fully electric Fiat 500e in North America. The electric small car, which has been very successful in Europe, leads the brand's electrification strategy but will not be available in the US market until early 2024 and represents an important element of the brand's non-European expansion.
"Since 1899, Fiat has played a role in the development of mobility, not only offering vehicles for the masses but also pursuing a social mission and riding the wave of 'what's next'," stated Olivier Francois, CEO of Fiat and Global CMO of Stellantis.
He spoke of a "global revolution," with customers today seeking more than just a car. That is the 500e, which Francois described as a social project intended to "nurture America's appetite for change towards sustainable mobility." Introducing electromobility with the brand icon Fiat 500 is precisely the right move. In the significant shift towards sustainable mobility, Fiat is the perfect brand in the US to play a key role. The iconic 500e will provide access to electric cars for many Americans.
"If you want it, you will have to drive it electrically, as it will only be offered in North America in this form," the CEO further announced.
The move towards greater electrification is not just about technology, but more about reinventing the customer experience and considering the diverse needs of people and the planet. During the press conference, Francois explained Fiat's plans in North America and announced that the official unveiling of the 500e in North America is scheduled for next year at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2023. Availability is planned for the first quarter of 2024.

During the press conference on stage, three unique 500e models from Armani, Kartell, and Bvlgari were simultaneously presented—three exclusive pieces meant to reflect Italian craftsmanship, creativity, and sophistication. As a symbol of "Made in Italy" worldwide, the three unique concepts embody the three souls of the new Fiat 500e: sustainable design, sustainable fashion, and sustainable luxury, the manufacturer promoted.
