Fastned: Two new HPC stations in North and West

The Fastned network has been expanded to 31 locations within Germany and 184 locations in Europe. Added to this were a fast-charging station in Groß Mackenstedt, Lower Saxony, and one in Boppard, Rhineland-Palatinate, bringing a total of twelve charging points online. In Groß Mackenstedt near Bremen, a drive-through station is now available directly on the A 28, exit 25, and located at the Stuhr junction. According to the company, this drive-through principle avoids the need for maneuvering and also serves safety during the charging process. E-vehicles can be charged there at three hyperchargers with a total of six charging points with up to 300 kilowatts. In Boppard-Buchholz, on the other hand, a pit-stop station has been installed, where the fast-charging column can be approached either from the front or the rear. It is located on the A 61, exit 41, directly on the B 327 and provides three hyperchargers with six charging points. According to its own statements, Fastned has been setting up barrier-free fast-charging stations since 2012, with the adaptation to the respective location being important.

"The opening of the two new stations in Boppard and Groß Mackenstedt concludes a successful year for Fastned in Germany. In 2021, we were able to open 13 fast-charging stations with a total of 62 charging points in six federal states," summarized CEO Michiel Langezaal.

Further growth is planned for 2022, mainly in Germany, where the number of new stations as well as employees is to be increased.
