The European fast-charging network operator Fastned has reached a milestone, in its own view, by surpassing the mark of 250 European stations. Recently, the provider expanded its network by adding two stations, one in France and one in the United Kingdom. The long-term goal is to build 1,000 fast-charging stations by 2030, aiming to accelerate the transformation to e-mobility.

The company was founded over ten years ago by Michiel Langezaal and Bart Lubbers in the Netherlands and has since expanded its network to five other countries: France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium. According to the European Council, 30 million electric vehicles will be on the roads of the EU by 2030. As more people switch to electric vehicles, the demand for charging infrastructure will continue to rise, the company said.

“Fastned is proud to be a driving force in the transition to sustainable mobility in Europe with more than 250 operational stations – and there will be more. We want to make it as easy as possible for people to drive electrically and contribute significantly with our reliable fast-charging infrastructure,” said Michiel Langezaal, CEO of Fastned.
