Evum Motors: Sami Sagur to accelerate internationalization
The Munich-based e-commercial vehicle startup Evum Motors is expanding its team with CFO Sami Sagur. The manager is expected to contribute his extensive experience in the automotive sector, including at FEV, Formel D, and Porsche, and is also joining the company as an investor and shareholder. The goal is to further drive internationalization and scale-up efforts over the next few months, according to the company. In the past twelve years, Sagur has worked in this role for larger international corporations. He began as a controller at Hugo Boss, then made a direct move into the automotive industry with Porsche. Since then, he has served as CFO for various major companies.
Given that his smallest previous company had about 6,000 employees, he explained his motivation to join a company like Evum Motors as being driven by the interesting and innovative product, but also by the company itself, its founders, and the team.
"The main difference between Evum and other startups in the e-mobility sector is the crucial point that Evum is already much further ahead. The company is already successfully producing and selling vehicles, having thus overcome the hurdle of starting a completely new series production where others often fail," says Sagur.
The aCar electric transporter and other planned derivatives have great potential for the future, from his perspective, beyond Germany and the DACH region. This is also the main reason for investing in Evum, not just as an employee but also as a shareholder.
According to his forecast, the company will be positioned as a successful and established provider of mobility solutions within two years. This applies not only in the B2B sector but also in some niches within the B2C sector. The trend is towards e-mobility and small vehicles tailored to daily needs.
The founders and managing directors Sascha Koberstaedt and Martin Soltes expressed their delight at the prominent addition. The company aims to multiply its revenue this year and pursues the goal of making the brand internationally known and established as an automobile manufacturer. Currently, further hires of executive and specialist personnel are planned, with over 30 positions advertised.
