The Munich-based manufacturer Evum Motors has reported substantial demand for its electrically powered universal utility vehicle aCar, three-quarters of a year after the production started. Since the end of last year, the production of the electric transporter has been running in series in Bayerbach near Ergoldsbach, close to Landshut, and the first deliveries included customers from the municipal, agricultural, forestry, industrial, service, and tourism sectors. The all-wheel-drive electric vehicle is proving itself in daily use.

The first delivery was a special moment, reports the manufacturer. After all, the vehicle went to Prof. Dr. Lienkamp from the Technical University of Munich, whose two former doctoral students, Dr. Martin Šoltés and Sascha Koberstaedt, handed him the keys to the vehicle that was once conceptualized at his chair.

“I am, of course, proud and extremely happy for my former doctoral students and founders of EVUM that they have managed to bring the aCar into series production. It took a few years to develop and prepare it. In my opinion, the success is already enormous," Lienkamp rejoices.

Key factor: Dealer and service network should grow
The Bavarian manufacturer of the green electric utility vehicle also wants to gradually push the expansion of a nationwide dealer and service network. In January 2021, BayWa AG was gained as the first partner, and on this basis, they are building a network with currently over 90 locations in Germany as well as in Switzerland comprehensively. In the future, they aim to be present across Europe as well.

“We are overjoyed and proud to see the first aCars with customers and our trading partners after the development phase and production start,” explains Sascha Koberstaedt, founder and managing director of EVUM Motors GmbH.

They want to take the "additional momentum" as an occasion to further expand the quality promise and sustainability values, adds Martin Šoltés, also founder and managing director.
