We were amazed when we saw the offer for the "Econelo" electric quad for €5,847.76 including taxes while shopping for our groceries, and upon further browsing the flyer, we discovered carports starting at €321.67 including taxes and e-bikes starting at €877.28 including taxes. The Econelo can be delivered as a 25 or 45 km/h version with a range of up to 60 kilometers and, at 2.3 meters long and just under one meter wide, it is quite compact.

However, as much as we like to buy affordable organic food at Netto, we are somewhat suspicious of these online offers, especially since they are only available online. But the problems usually start after the delivery. And the more expensive, complex, and professional the goods become, the more important a functioning service is. At least Econelo has taken precautions here and offers information on spare parts and repairs on their own website www.econelo.de. You can also take care of it yourself, as Netto offers a tire balancing or mounting machine, a digital torque wrench, and various workshop trolleys, workbenches, and tool cabinets in the same flyer.

It will be interesting to see to what extent the individual market players will expand their offerings in the future – and whether we might one day find a fruit and vegetable section in a Tesla store.
